The Old
PowerhouseWe're really excited about our Stoney Creek debut at The Old Powerhouse. Seems like they've heard as much about us as we've heard about them! Sure, it's small, but we're squeezing in and starting at a special later time (9-9:30) than their usual shows. It's a special event! Check out their menu on the website www.theoldpowerhouse.com. We're definitely having dinner there before the show, and we're already salivating. It's a real family operation, and the building adds ambience and acoustics that will contribute to what we predict will be a very special evening. Come early...

Yes, friends, we're back at our favourite Hamilton haunt. (Don't tell too many people, but it's Kim's birthday on the 6th...) We're expecting it to be a particularly lively night.
Young Street is off James Street South, before you get to St. Joe's. Just turn left (East) on Young from James as you travel South, and follow it down. Easy! (If you're coming from the east, just follow King St, turn left on Walnut, and left on Young)

House Concert
An Evening of Singer Songwriters
Thursday, May 26, 7:30 p.m.
Dundas, Ontario
Featuring: Terry Rielly, Paul Langille, Brian Blain and Dan
Medakovic
w/Lily Sazz
RSVP or INFO: 905-628-9755 or
mail@lilysazz.com, Limited Space, $15, Refreshments served. Take a look at
the pictures below to check out the venue.
This is a specially programmed event featuring 4 fine singer songwriters coming together for what will inevitably be a unique and memorable evening. Each has invited Lily to accompany them for some of their tunes. The whole thing has been planned around the rare visit by Newfoundland's Terry Rielly. It's a chance for him to meet some of his Ontario musical compadres and for us to show him how friendly and music-loving we all are.
Terry Rielly: Singer/songwriter/piano player Terry Rielly is a household name in Newfoundland and Labrador, and is known for his performance of a wide variety of music, mostly centred around bluesy material and his own compositions. He's played all over Eastern Canada, and as far away as Tanzania, Poland, and Mexico. In 1994 he spearheaded a project called "Bears for Bosnia" which took him to the former Yugoslavia to perform and help deliver the ten thousand teddy bears donated by Newfoundland and Labrador children. He has five recordings to his credit and has done a number of spots for Sesame Street. This house concert will be a truly unique opportunity to see Terry, as he very rarely visits Ontario. He'll be performing "grown up" music for this concert, but you can also catch him at First-Pilgrim United Church in Hamilton when he performs a special children's concert on May 27th.
Paul Langille: What a thrill to have Paul Langille in such an intimate setting. Formerly from Hamilton, now residing in London, you shouldn't miss this chance to see him in Dundas. If you've never heard Paul sing and play guitar, you won't have a better opportunity to get up close and personal than you will at this house concert. His voice will send chills up and down your spine, and his acoustic guitar playing will astound you. Plus, he's pretty funny. See www.paullangille.com.
Brian Blain: Brian and Lily play together on a fairly regular basis. His songs are roots/blues in style, but with modern themes that anyone can relate to. His lyrics will make you smile, chuckle, and sometimes think and feel. A house concert like this is really the best way to see Brian perform. His forte truly is performing before an attentive group. You will enjoy him. See brian.blain.com.
Dan Medakovic: Dan has been quietly writing songs and recording in Dundas and Hamilton for years, now. He's been so busy with his own recording studio and various other exciting endeavours, there hasn't been much time for him to enjoy his own music career. However, that's changing as Dan prepares to record his next CD, a followup to his 2002 release Honey Bucket, produced by Ray Materick.
